Readers may have noticed a change in my appearance. Your eyes are not fooling you. There's been a definite change.
In Magdeburg, one of the students (or maybe it was more) expressed an interest in shaving my head. Since my hair is minimal anyway, I decided to use this as an opportunity to encourage high achievement. I agreed that they could, if they fulfilled two things:
1. They could not complain about any activities, including biking, hiking, concept mapping, and rehearsing Mendelssohn's "Denn er hat seinen Engeln empfohlen über dir." This leads me to...
2. They had to do a very good job singing the Mendelssohn piece in Austria!
Well, wouldn't you know it, they really rose to the occasion. So in Witten, on June 20, they shaved my head. It was a process that was...well...not really pleasant, but not too bad either. I figure what I lost in terms of hair (!), I gained in terms of a very pleasant group of students and a great "performance" in Dornbirn, Austria. If you haven't listened to the video that Kym posted a few days ago, do -- it's really worth it.
So anyway, here's my new look. Joe, I'm sorry, but it'll grow back!
