Rheinland State Hospital: art therapy

Franz had promised us a full day of arts therapies in the hospital on Friday, and he was true to his word. One of the art therapists let the students (and the rest of us) do a huge, messy paint project.

Micky and Sarah both have great gymnastic/movement/dance skills, so they had their own special way of contributing to the experience.

Then Getrud (a German MT) and Maria Caserta (an expatriate who interned with Franz) got into the process…

The students also took this opportunity (messy hands) to decorate my head temporarily.

Let's just say I tolerated it...

Hi,

My name is Amanda Alders and I'm a graduate student in New York/ the U.S. I'm studying Art Therapy on a Masters level and I'm interested in finding out if there is an Art Therapy program in Germany. I will be in Detmold, Germany for 3 weeks-from December 13th until January 9th. I'd like to stop by a University with an Art Therapy program and learn more about what is being done in Europe. Also, if I could meet up with some other Art Therapists in the area, I'd love to hear about recent projects.

Best Regards,

Amanda Alders
