Hello Everyone,
Introduce yourself:
Well, my name is Micky Mack and I am going on my 4th year here at Georgia College & State University with majors in Music Therapy (primary) and Spanish (secondary). I like to talk A LOT and seem to have a voice that carries very well, which I'm sure you'll notice throughout our trip together. I'm a pretty fun-loving guy who's all about having a good time and taking from all the experiences in life. I enjoy making others laugh and generally stay away from confrontation.
Write about what interested you in this program:
First off, "I LOVE TO TRAVEL!", helping this trip stand out against the rest. What's more, how often is it that you hear about a study-abroad option for music therapy? Let me help you out here a bit, "NEVER!" So yeah, being a rising music therapist, I was definitely interested in seeing the methodology and techniques used in a different setting, Germany. Also, for those who do not know, I will be studying MT in Argentina this coming Fall semester and thought that it would be interesting to compare the approaches of these two countries against the USA. To round it all off, it interested me to see where one of my professors, Dr. K, had done his internship and practiced.
Write about your expectations for the program:
I plan to come back with a knowledge of new techniques and approaches to MT. I hope that this trip will help me form a more "rounded" opinion of the field and help me to develop myself as a music therapist. Also, in meeting individually with the German music therapists, I hope to gain insight into any differences in "approach"that they may have. Finally, if possible I would like to return with a conceptual understanding of the German language and hopefully be able to at least pronounce the vocabulary (correctly).

from one MMT (Male Music Therapist) to another...many of us are heavy into the talking thing...others, thankfully, are not. I look forward to seeing all of us balance each other out.
